The Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI-IV) is a individually administered intelligence test for children ages two to seven.
The test typically takes less than an hour and is administered by a certified psychologist. The WPPSI-IV can be used to identify cognitive delays, learning disabilities and used alongside other tests to assess a child’s level of intellectual giftedness. The fourth edition of the test contains five core subtests for children aged 2 years, 6 months to 3 years, 11 months and twelve core subtests for children aged 4 years to 7 years. The WPPSI-IV for children aged 2 years, 6 months to 3 years, 11 months generates a Full Scale IQ based on three primary indexes: Verbal Comprehension, Visual Spatial, and Working Memory. The WPPSI-IV for children aged 4 years to 7 years generates a Full Scale IQ based on five primary indexes: Verbal Comprehension, Visual Spatial, Fluid Reasoning, Working Memory, and Processing Speed.
We always suggest taking a practice test ahead of time to determine individual needs and an appropriate timeline for preparation.
