GMAT - Arete Educational Consulting

The GMAT is used to evaluate students applying specifically to business school.

The test emphasizes analytical writing, quantitative problem solving (math), and reading comprehension. It is administered via computer.

Arete’s process starts by diagnosing a student’s proficiency and preparedness. After assessing a student’s existing skill sets, we create an individualized approach and training schedule, ensuring optimal performance. We also work to quell test-related anxiety and teach strategies for navigating the computer-administered test format.

How long is the test?

The test is about three hours and thirty minutes including the optional breaks. It will take closer to four hours if you choose to take the two optional eight minute breaks.

How many months in advance should I start preparing?

We always recommend starting test prep six months before your scheduled exam date. Student readiness, work commitments and other obligations will also influence the amount of time needed to prepare.

When is the test offered?

The GMAT is a computer administered exam and is offered most days of the year on a first-come, first served basis.
