The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children or WISC-V is an IQ test given to children ages 6 to 16.
It assesses the student’s intellectual giftedness and cognitive strengths and weaknesses. The test, administered by a psychologist and available throughout the year, can be taken on paper or digitally through Q-interactive. The WISC generates a Full Scale IQ based on five primary indexes: Verbal Comprehension Index, Visual Spatial Index, Fluid Reasoning Index, Working Memory Index and Processing Speed Index.
An IQ test is distinct from a standardized or achievement test and may take more time to prepare for. We recommend students take a practice exam prior to tutoring, so we can evaluate the test results and determine an appropriate timeline for preparation.
